They certainly promote the accordion with this CD!!!

Accordeon Melancolique is a duo consisting of Jean-Pierre Guiran and his wife Cherie de Boer, both on the accordeon, from Holland.

They recorded this CD without any accompaniment and chose to record a mixture of French and South-American melodies on which they let their personal interpretations loose. A very intimate sounding CD is the result. Passionate and romantic with a very warm and melancholic sound. It all starts with the warm tango " Beguine Des Reves Brises" in which they prove that accordeon music doesn't have to sound corny at all!! " Ma Premiere Guitare" (strange title for an accordeon piece) is a very warm improvised jazz tune while " La Nena" is a wild swinging Columbian dance tune. There's even some blues in " Passe Compose".

" La Vie En Rose" is a bit too obvious and sounds a bit woolley and " El Choclo" is a very nervous sounding tango.

This duo has the right name " Melancolique" !!! They certainly promote the accordion with this CD!!!
